David Bromberg Big Noise in the Neighborhood Concert
The Big Noise In The Neighborhood Festival Presented by AAA Mid-Atlantic is a celebration of local music luminary David Bromberg and all the styles of “Americana” music that his playing represents: folk, rock, bluegrass and blues to name just a few. A musician’s musician, Bromberg has written for, produced, and performed with some of the country’s most important musicians, from Bob Dylan to Willie Nelson. He has also created his own impressive body of solo material, including a Grammy-nomination in 2008 for “Try Me One More Time.” Bromberg calls Wilmington home and now it is Wilmington’s opportunity to honor him and his music.
The event will take place on May 15th from Noon-8PM on the riverfront in downtown Wilmington, DE, and it will be broadcast live on the radio by Philadelphia-based, WXPN (88.5), one of the country’s most successful community (non-commercial) stations. Produced by local non-profit Light Up the Queen Foundation, whose mission is to renovate the historic Queen Theater on Market Street in downtown Wilmington and insure that it serves as a catalyst for the city’s urban revitalization, the event will bring top-notch talent to town and will be listened to all over the surrounding region, from Baltimore, Philadelphia as well as central PA and New Jersey. Indeed, a BIG NOISE will be made that day!
