Wilmington, DE May 9, 2008 – The Riverfront Wilmington River Taxi is now operating on a regular schedule for the 2008 season. The 36 passenger boat offers daily trips, private cruises, wine cruises and family nights along the Christina River.
The Taxi hours of operation are Tuesday – Saturday 12:00pm-8:00pm, Sunday 2:00pm-8:30pm and closed Monday. The River Taxi can be boarded at any one of the following dock locations: Dravo Plaza, Overlook Pavilion, Riverfront Market, Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park and Kalmar Nyckel Foundation. The cost is $5 for Adults and $3 for Children.
Private Cruises are available for any group up to 36 passengers. Learn about the rich history of Wilmington’s Christina River, including WWII Shipbuilding and the underground railroad; explore the river’s many natural wonders with a look at it’s habitat and wildlife; or simply relax and enjoy the ride. River taxi cruises are perfect for: Birthday Parties, Summer Camp Adventures, Employee Team Building Exercises, Business & Social Gatherings, Senior Center Excursions and Youth or Church Group Outings. Family Night will combine a boat cruise and discount on ice cream at Molly’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream & Deli. In addition, all children will receive a complimentary Riverfront gift. Cost is $12 per family. Time: 5:00pm-8:00pm. Dates: 6/3, 6/10, 6/17, 6/24, 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5, 8/12, 8/19, 8/26. Tickets can be purchased onboard the boat.
Wednesday’s on the Water will provide a 1 hour Cruise with wine tasting and entertainment along the Christina River. Cost is $15 per person Cruise Times: 6:00pm-7:00pm, 7:00pm-8:00pm, and 8:00pm-9:00pm. Dates: 6/25, 7/9, 7/23, 8/13, 8/27, 9/10, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8. Reservations accepted, must be 21 years old.
