Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware Launches Photo Contest

Wilmington, DE (January 5, 2012) - The Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware (RDC) will launch the Riverfront Wilmington Photo Contest on January 9, 2012, which is open to all amateur and professional photographers.  Entries may be submitted from January 9 – April 16, 2012. There is no limit to the number of photographs a contest entrant is able to submit.

The RDC is looking for both scenic photos and photos that include people enjoying activities and places along the Christina Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware. All photographs must have been taken along the Christina Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware during the past year (April 16, 2011 – April 16, 2012).

“This photo contest will be a fun and unique way to get the public involved in the revitalization happening along the Christina Riverfront,” stated Megan McGlinchey, Director of Operations for the Riverfront Development Corporation.  “These photos will be used to regionally promote the numerous attractions and destinations that we have along our Riverfront in Wilmington.”

A panel of judges will select four (4) top finalists and a public voting process will determine a grand prize winner. All four (4) finalists will receive a Riverfront Wilmington prize package. The Grand Prize winner will have his/her photo printed in Out & About Magazine and utilized by the Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware in future marketing campaigns.  The four (4) finalists will be notified by May 15, 2012, and the public voting process will begin on June 1, 2012. The Grand Prize winner will be announced during the last week of June 2012.

All images must be submitted on the RDC’s website, www.riverfrontwilm.com/photocontest using the photo contest form.  All participants must adhere to the Riverfront Photo Contest Rules and Guidelines found on www.riverfrontwilm.com/photocontest/rules-terms/.  All photographs must be submitted by the original photographer, and the photographer must have sole ownership of the copyright/rights for the image. BY submitting an image, entrants grant permission to the Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware to edit, publish and reuse the image.
