DCM CELEBRATES THE LIFE, WORDS, AND ACTION OF MLK

WILMINGTON, DE – The Delaware Children’s Museum (DCM) will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 21, with a special choir tribute honoring the civil rights leader.

The Museum will welcome Joyful Noise, a chorus of 45 adults, ages 17-70, all of whom face either physical or neurological challenges, for two performances on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The mission of Joyful Noise is to foster an atmosphere of community, acceptance, and teamwork in which members can discover their voice and express themselves through music. Performing at both 11:30am and 1pm, the choir members’ vocal celebration will illuminate the power of all our words and voices.

Now through Monday, January 28, the DCM will continue its an interactive program and gallery called “The Power of Voices.”  In the gallery, filled with the sounds and images of Dr. King’s words, young visitors can express their own hopes and dreams for the future on the DCM’s “Peace Scrolls” and colorful “Hope Chains.”
