DCCA extends Art Loop hours
The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts will extend its hours for Wilmington’s monthly Art Loop until 9 p.m., an additional hour, starting Feb. 2. We realized that three hours is not enough time to see the DCCA’s seven
galleries and 26 artist’s studios, said Valerie Jermusyk, DCCA membership director. We want our visitors to have
more time to enjoy the art on display and explore the studios. The Art Loop, a monthly event sponsored by the
Wilmington Arts Commission, Cityfest Inc. and the City of Wilmington’s Office of Cultural Affairs, starts at 5 p.m. on the first Friday of every month, except for January, July and August. More than 25 museums, galleries and art schools open their doors for the evening. Most locations serve refreshments. For the February Art Loop, visitors to the DCCA will see exhibitions by painter Peter Williams and sculptors Claire Sherwood and Julia Stratton, as well as the annual Members’ Juried Exhibition and The Painted Interior, paintings of interior spaces by Morgan Craig, Christopher Gallego and Douglas Martenson. There will be a reception for Williams, whose oil on
canvas paintings are on display in Baghdad and other unfinished business.
