Free Family Program at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts
Wilmington, Del. -- 30 March 2009 – The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts will host a free family program, Funky Materials: Art-Making With The Everyday, on Sunday, April 26 from noon - 3 pm. Families can explore DCCA exhibitions on view and check out Caroline Lathan-Stiefel’s installation Layer City made from textiles, craft materials, and discarded household objects. Families will have the opportunity to experiment with unexpected materials and create funky sculptures based on Lathan-Stiefel’s work. Gallery and theater games and other drop-in activities will also be offered. This program is designed for children ages 4 and up.
About the DCCA
DCCA gallery hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; noon-5 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays. Admission is free.
The DCCA is wheelchair-accessible; visitors with special needs are encouraged to call in advance.
