DELAWARE THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES
WILMINGTON, DE - June 3, 2010 - Michael Marquardt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Theatre Company, today announced the departure of Delaware Theatre Company (DTC) Artistic Director Anne Marie Cammarato. "In Anne Marie's six-year tenure with the Theatre Company, she has been a leading force in the development of new programs and the cultivation of a very talented core of artists and artisans, in addition to being a gifted director. In evaluating the future needs of the organization, the Board of Directors has decided to end the theatre's relationship with Anne Marie in her role as Artistic Director. We are currently undertaking an institutional assessment to consider how best to build upon this theatre's thirty-plus-year history and create the sort of theatre which this community needs for the next thirty. "
Speaking of the upcoming 2010-2011 season, Mr. Marquardt said, "Of course, at the theatre, the show goes on and the staff is already at work on the season which opens in October. As often happens, artist availability is a juggling act and occasionally we have to move a title or two around within the season. If any changes are necessary, we'll announce them to our subscribers and to the public over the summer. In the meantime, the theatre will soon be full of young people for our popular Summer On Stage camp so even while the theatre is 'dark' there will be quite a bit going on before the start of our 32nd season."
