Meet the In Kids!

Meet the In Kids Coalition at Delaware Family Expo, Feb. 26

Wilmington has long been known for its top-notch educational resources for families. Now, a select group of these child-focused organizations have banded together to create the In Kids.  This coalition will offer joint programming and activities, as well as special discounts for children and their families who join the In Kids.

The In Kids is comprised of the Delaware Children’s Museum; the Wilmington Blue Rocks minor league baseball team; the State of Delaware’s Brandywine Zoo; the Delaware Museum of Natural History; the Kalmar Nyckel, the tall ship of Delaware; and  DuPont Environmental Education Center, which is operated by the Delaware Nature Society and owned by the Riverfront Development Corp. of Delaware.

The In Kids will introduce its partnership to area families at the Delaware Family Expo, Feb. 26 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. This day-long expo offers one-stop access to area companies and organizations that specialize in children’s products and services. The In Kids, which will be exhibiting in Wilmington Hall, will present shows and demonstrations on a center stage throughout the day. In addition, each member organization will offer a variety of hands-on activities, from crafts to “fossil finds” at booths adjacent to the stage.

“I am excited about the launch of the In Kids,” says Megan McGlinchey, director of operations for the Riverfront Development Corp. of Delaware. “It brings together premier organizations that offer innovative, original programming for children and their families.”

“As a parent, I personally can’t wait for the Delaware Family Expo and the chance to introduce my young daughter to all the fun and learning that the In Kids offers to kids of all ages.”

The Delaware Family Expo will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington. For more information about the expo, go to http://www.mountainexpos.com/family_expo.html.
